Gary Willis – Go Get Yo

This one is out on Oliver Langs label ‘DOJO Music’ and is an absolute stomper! In my opinion Gary Willis is absolutely havin’ it at the moment with releases on other labels such as Vamos & Koolwaters, and some other forthcoming releases already in the pipeline. This track is a huge main room tech tune with some bouncy vocal tech stabs, big breakdown and a mega drop. This is guaranteed dancefloor hit. Exclusive to Beatport until 10th Feb, a sure winner for DOJO!

Schuhmacher & The Sloppy 5th’s – Rock’n’Rolla

Huge tech track released on Sphera Records. I’ve got loads of love for this label, every release is awesome! Using the beginning guitar riff from ‘Reef – Place Your Hands’ looped and laid over some big bouncy tech drums. Schuhmacher & The Sloppy 5th’s have used just enough of that sample to not make this cheesy, but instead turn it into a main room underground monster track. This is a must buy! Definitely going in the gig bag ready for the weekend!

Coyu – Coyu Edits Volume 3

The latest release on Suara Records, and this time all three tracks are Suara’s head honcho ‘Coyu’ putting his own spin on, and remixing some previously released material. The first up of the remixes is ‘Charles Ramirez & Baum – Fire Alarm (Coyu Edit)’ which as said in the name contains a repetitive siren alarm sound sitting over a big deep bassline and a techy hat drum pattern, great tune! Next up is ‘Maurice Aymard & Gui Boratto – Home (Coyu Edit)’, now this one is very laid back with a funky, deep sounding bassline and a chilling high pitched synth pattern. Not usually my style but its awesome, great breakdown and loads of strings! The last track is ‘Metodi Hristov – Earth (Coyu Edit)’, I gotta say, I love this track! So many different elements to it.. Big complex drums, shakers, and a tribal feel to it. Although not something I’d play in a main room but it’s simply amazing. All round fantastic release on one of my favourite labels ‘Suara Records’. Enjoy!

Mennie & Diavlo – Freaks EP

This is a big room tech house stomper consisting of three huge tracks. First up is the track ‘Freaks’, trust me this tune is massive. Big energetic drums with a deep techy bassline, great breakdown too. Next up is a track called ‘Warp Melody’ and it comes along with an additional edit from Mennie. The original is another main room tech track with a huge breakdown and riser/snare build up, I can definitely imagine this taking the roof off in any big house event. Last up is the Mennie Edit of ‘Warp Melody’ which isn’t too different from the original, a few tweaks perhaps and a slightly different breakdown. Released on Great Stuff Records, it’s a biggie!

Hosse – The Beginning EP

Huge release for Urbana Recordings and a first on the label for Hosse. This EP features two tracks, the first being ‘Keep The Fire Burning’. This tune is brilliant, it has a nice bouncy bassline pattern laid under some nice hats and deep drums.. Big! The second track is called ‘Join Hands’ and also has a nice bouncy repetitive bassline, I love the way the drums come in and drop out again, it makes the track slightly quirky! Nice breakdown before a huge riser and drop.

Pawsa – Pilot EP

Out on Lost Records and a debut on the label for Pawsa. There’s four tracks on this EP release including 3 originals and a remix from Supernova. The first is ‘Pilot’, a nice deep bassline sitting under a big flowing drum pattern with some great sounding twitchy shakers, very eerie flow but awesome! The second track is called ‘Narcissist’ and is slightly more upbeat, nice techy drums & stabby synth with a very deep bass pattern. This definitely needs to be heard on a big club system to really appreciate it, huge tune! The final track is ‘Pretty Good Debbie’ which features the Supernova remix. The original has a great breakdown and a vocal by Denzel Washington taken from the film ‘Training Day’. Also has a nice build and drop into a deep techy corker. The Supernova remix is a slightly more upbeat version with a flowing synth and an acid warp sounding bassline, massive tune! Although all tracks are brilliant, I’d say my favourite is Pilot. Check out all four tracks on this single Soundcloud sample.

Max Linen – Flashback (Pirupa Remix)

A track with a trip down memory lane really. The sound on this is exclusive and identifiable to the one and only Pirupa. Back in 2010, Myself and Lawrence destroyed the airwaves of Select Uk with the thunderous tech-techno mergers of Pirupa. Full of eclectic tribal rhythm and percussion, but with strong techno inspired relentless bass and affected vocals. This track has a trippy, acidic, breakdown – but smacks back in without fail, with the trademark Pirupa rhythm and drums. If ‘Drum and Bass’ wasn’t a 170bpm genre all of it’s own, it would be a great way to describe this track. Maybe Bass and Drum will do. The artwork is crazy, but, definitely worth a download.

Hazzaro – Spread Love

A more than capable peak time rumbler. The sample in this track is easily recognisable to any house or disco fan – The vintage strings of course made most famous in the track C-Mos ‘Two Millon Ways’ (and what a track that was). Here, it has been beefed up, teched up and turned into 4 bar repeating dance floor destroyer. Definitely one to keep in the bag for when the night steps it up a gear. It’s a brand new release this month on Pornostar Records, and i’m sure will make a mark on a few Beatport charts.

Luigi Rocca and Manuel De La Mare – Gipsy Sun and Rainbows (A-Side)

I’m liking this. I’m liking this a lot. It’s out there and it’s new. Take two top draw Italian producers known for their stomping, but sophisticated, mainroom sounds. Now add some influence from the persistent bass house trend and you end up with this. It’s as deep and as eclectic as I like it, but still has that mainroom after midnight vibe. With its deep house and future garage drums sounds, it’s relentless baseline, and it’s effected vocal; this kind of reminds me of the recent Tube & Berger hit with Juliet Sikora, ‘Set It Off’. I would play this unabashed, main room, at peak time hours. It’s hot, and its on 303 Lovers right now!

Preview: Chvrches – Tether (Junior Sanchez Remix)

This song gives me goosebumps. And it’s not just me. With 2,166 Favourites and 57,369 plays on Soundcloud (and counting), it’s doing this for a lot of people! It’s reminiscent of the progressive house we were subject to several years ago, with the emotional tracks from the likes of Deadmau5, EDX, Adam K, Soha and Gianluca Motta. It’s emotive, sexy and it’s got a chilling vocal that will give any radio set or closing party that ‘shiver down the spine’ moment. And if you don’t agree with me, maybe the fact it was the opening track to Steve Angello’s Residency on Radio 1 will convince you too! Also, if like me you love eclectic music too, be sure to check out their entire new Lies EP featuring some real 80’s electro vibes.
