Black Loops – Simplon EP

Released on Gruuv is this nice four-track EP from Black Loops, it consists of three originals and a remix of the title track. The first track (and title track) is ‘Simplon’, it’s a nice bouncy deep house tune with a warpy stab bassline pattern, some real old skool sounds and effects make this track stand out. The second is a tune called ‘Cabron’, this feels slightly darker than the first. It has a big deep stab bassline pattern sat nicely under some pitched down dark vocal, very well produced and contains a load of elements. The third track is ‘Up On You’, upon hearing the bassline for the first time it instantly reminds me of the old 4×4 garage days as it’s deep and slightly warpy, if only it had the garage style shuffle drums too, it’d be just like the old days! Finally the fourth track is a remix of ‘Simplon’ by ‘Sidney Charles’. Sidney is no stranger to big tunes at the moment and I have even reviewed a couple of his productions on this website previously. Wow, what a remix! He has really made this big. Some lovely hats and big synths sat over a bumpy old skool bass riff… Hooj choon!

Simion – Warning / Jack Your Body

Released on OFF Recordings is this two-part deep house release from Simion. The first track is ‘Warning’ which has an amazing deep bassline groove sitting under a great little vocal hook. Breaks down to almost nothing before the vocal kicks in then drops into that awesome bassline again, love this! The next track is ‘Jack Ur Body’ which is a lovely bouncy banger! It has a nice top end pluck sound to the bass rhythm which really goes well. Loads of breakdowns and builds in this, awesome track.

SUARA – Kitties Go Deep Vol. 2 (20 Tracks)

Huge release for Suara Records and they have switched it up with this, 20 tracks of deep house bangers! I’m not gonna go through and explain about every track on this release as I’ll be here forever but having been sent this straight from Suara a while ago, I’ve had a chance to go through them and pick out my favourites! Trust me when I say this but every track on this release is brilliant, the ones that really stuck out to me though are ‘KANT – Bass & The Beats’, it’s a big bassline tune!, ‘EdOne & Bodden – You’re My Heart’ as I love the 80’s rhythm!, ‘Sugar Hill – Disco Music’ as it’s got another quality 80’s rhythm, and ‘Tough Love – Missing You’ because of the big bassline riff. This is absolutely massive! Have a listen and judge for yourself!

Golf Clap – Dream Trippin’

Fresh on Freeze Dried, a label that really needs no introduction! So many amazing artists on this label and this is no exception, Golf Clap are back after their huge track last year called ‘Another Way’ with this huge new release ‘Dream Trippin’, along with a cheeky remix from Low Steppa. The original has an awesome chord pattern which takes me back to the old garage days. Use of a great vocal and a stabby bass pattern, brilliant. On the Low Steppa remix, he makes use of some really nice offbeat snares which give it a real garagy feel, breaks down to the chord pattern before this HUGE bassline drop! This is guaranteed to get the crowds hands in the air. Low Steppa is absolutely havin’ it at the moment, I was only reviewing another one of his tracks yesterday and then I come across this… Such a great release! Nuff Said!

Martin Ikin is a name that has erupted on the deep house scene over the past couple of years a catalogue of amazing productions. This is his latest release and starts of quite atmospheric with some nice pads before a huge deep bassline pattern kicks in sitting nicely under some great pitched down vocals and some high pitched stabs. Have a listen, it’s HUGE!

Low Steppa – Trackin EP

This is something fresh on the Form & Function label from Low Steppa. Two amazing deep house tracks, the first being ‘Trackin’ which has a nice big warpy bassline and some awesome subs. Love the use of the vocal which gives it a real old skool vibe. The next track is ‘Everybody’ which has a nice bouncy garagy feel to it. Big stabby vocals laid over some huge rhodes chords. I will be putting this one in the gig bag and giving it some airplay on my radio show! Huge EP..

The Deepshakerz – SNATCH! OFF06 EP

Three part EP from The Deepshakerz released on Snatch! Records. Kicking things off with ‘Everybody’s Gone’ which is a well produced tech house tune. This doesn’t have a huge bassline that makes it stand out but it does have a big bass sound that follows the kick drum and loads of stabby little vocal snippets, love it! The second track is ‘Wait The Vibe’ and has a nice long breakdown with a female vocal before kicking into some really techy drums. The third track is a deep house organ based tune called ‘Don’t Let My Body’ with a great flowing riff and some nice bass stabs. Great EP and it’s getting a lot of attention from the big players! Get your hands on it now…

Kruse & Nuernberg ft Leftwing & Kody – Turning

Released on Off Recordings is this deep house stormer from Kruse & Nuernberg featuring Leftwing & Kody. Well, listening from the beginning I was expecting quite a chilled atmospheric deep house track but then this amazing vocal snippet kicks in before a nice warm floaty bassline for a few bars, then WOW.. Big bassline! The fusion of big deep house drums, this huge bassline, the vocals and a high pitched arpeggiated synth create one hell of a track.

Hosse – The Beginning EP

Huge release for Urbana Recordings and a first on the label for Hosse. This EP features two tracks, the first being ‘Keep The Fire Burning’. This tune is brilliant, it has a nice bouncy bassline pattern laid under some nice hats and deep drums.. Big! The second track is called ‘Join Hands’ and also has a nice bouncy repetitive bassline, I love the way the drums come in and drop out again, it makes the track slightly quirky! Nice breakdown before a huge riser and drop.

Pawsa – Pilot EP

Out on Lost Records and a debut on the label for Pawsa. There’s four tracks on this EP release including 3 originals and a remix from Supernova. The first is ‘Pilot’, a nice deep bassline sitting under a big flowing drum pattern with some great sounding twitchy shakers, very eerie flow but awesome! The second track is called ‘Narcissist’ and is slightly more upbeat, nice techy drums & stabby synth with a very deep bass pattern. This definitely needs to be heard on a big club system to really appreciate it, huge tune! The final track is ‘Pretty Good Debbie’ which features the Supernova remix. The original has a great breakdown and a vocal by Denzel Washington taken from the film ‘Training Day’. Also has a nice build and drop into a deep techy corker. The Supernova remix is a slightly more upbeat version with a flowing synth and an acid warp sounding bassline, massive tune! Although all tracks are brilliant, I’d say my favourite is Pilot. Check out all four tracks on this single Soundcloud sample.
